Double Beam Rail Mounted Gantry Crane for Port Operations

Double Beam Rail Mounted Gantry Crane for Port Operations

Specification:

  • Load Capacity: 30 - 60 ton
  • Lifting Height: 9 - 18m
  • Span: 20 - 40m
  • Working Duty: A6 - A8

Key Features

Optimized Lifting Performance: A rail mounted gantry crane typically operates with a lower lifting speed due to its relatively low lifting height. However, its high traveling speed along long rail tracks ensures excellent productivity in large container yards. When container stacks reach three or four layers, the spreader can easily pass over the top layer, with the lifting height customized according to the yards operational requirements.

Adjustable Trolley Speed for Efficiency: The trolley travel speed of a rail mounted gantry crane is influenced by the cranes span and the outreach on both sides of the main girder. For shorter spans, a slower trolley speed can actually improve handling efficiency. For wider spans, the trolley speed can be increased to maintain the required operational throughput.

Synchronous Travel Mechanism: When the span exceeds 40 meters, different drag forces on both sides may cause the gantry to deviate during travel. To solve this, the rail mounted gantry crane is equipped with stabilizers and an electronic synchronization system, ensuring smooth, accurate, and safe movement along the rails.

Advanced Electrical Drive and Control System: The rail mounted gantry crane utilizes modern drive technologies such as thyristor-controlled AC or DC systems to deliver precise speed adjustment and enhanced performance. Some models may also adopt AC eddy-current or stator-voltage speed regulation systems, providing reliable and flexible control for various working conditions.

Technological Innovation

Advanced Automation Integration for RMG Crane: Modern RMG crane systems are increasingly designed for seamless integration with Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), enabling fully automated stacking and retrieval (ARMG). Functions such as automatic truck positioning and container identification significantly improve yard efficiency while reducing labor dependency and operational risks.

Enhanced Energy Efficiency Technologies: Energy-saving solutions are a major focus in RMG crane innovation. Regenerative drives, energy recovery systems, LED lighting, and intelligent power management software help lower overall energy consumption. Hybrid and fully electric power configurations are also becoming mainstream.

Data-Driven Smart Operations: With built-in IoT sensors, the RMG crane continuously collects data on cycle times, energy usage, and component health. This operational data supports real-time performance analysis, predictive maintenance, and long-term process optimization.

Higher Stacking and Wider Spans: New RMG crane designs now support 7-wide and 1-over-6 high stacking configurations, allowing terminals to maximize yard density even in space-constrained environments.

Improved Ergonomics and Safety Systems: Remote operation stations with VR/AR visualization, AI-based anti-collision technology, and advanced personnel detection systems greatly enhance safety and operator comfort.

Strong Sustainability Focus: Full electrification, noise reduction, and low-emission operation enable RMG crane systems to meet modern Green Port” and sustainability certification requirements.
