Main Parts

♦Main Beam: The main beam is the core load-bearing component of a single girder gantry crane. It is typically manufactured as an I-beam or box-type girder using high-strength structural steel. This beam spans between the two supporting legs and carries the combined weight of the hoist, trolley, and lifted load. Its optimized design balances strength and light weight, ensuring minimal deflection, stable lifting performance, and long-term structural reliability.

♦Legs (End Carriages): The legs support the main beam and transfer loads to the ground or runway rails. They may be designed as straight legs or A-frame structures for enhanced stability. At the bottom, legs are fitted with wheels or base plates. In rail-mounted configurations, the end carriages include drive motors and wheels that allow the crane to travel smoothly along the track.

♦Trolley and Hoist: The trolley runs along the underside or top of the main beam and carries the hoist unit. The hoist, powered by an electric motor, performs the vertical lifting operation using a hook or lifting attachment. Together, the trolley and hoist enable precise horizontal and vertical movement of loads across the working area.

♦Travel Mechanism: Installed at the leg bases, the travel mechanism consists of motors, gear reducers, and wheel assemblies. This system allows the entire crane to move longitudinally along the runway, making it suitable for handling materials over large spans in workshops or outdoor yards.

♦Electrical and Control System: The electrical system powers all crane movements and includes control panels, cables, and motors. Operators can control the crane using pendant controls, wireless remote control, or a cabin, ensuring accurate and efficient operation.

♦Safety Components: Safety devices such as limit switches, overload protection, emergency stop buttons, and optional anti-collision systems are integrated to protect both personnel and equipment, ensuring safe and reliable daily operation.

Advantages

♦Cost-Effective Investment: A single girder gantry crane is designed with a simpler structure and uses less steel compared with double girder systems. This significantly reduces manufacturing, transportation, and installation costs, making it an ideal lifting solution for projects with limited budgets while still delivering reliable performance.

♦High Versatility: This type of crane can be equipped with different lifting devices such as hooks, electric chain or wire rope hoists, lifting magnets, grabs, and jibs. Thanks to this flexibility, a single girder gantry crane can handle a wide range of materials and is suitable for workshops, warehouses, yards, and light industrial applications.

♦Easy Installation: With fewer components and a straightforward design, installation is fast and uncomplicated. Maintenance is also easier, as there are fewer moving parts to inspect or replace, resulting in reduced downtime and lower long-term operating costs.

♦Space-Saving Design: The compact structure requires minimal headroom and floor space, making the single girder gantry crane especially suitable for facilities with height restrictions or limited working areas.

Applications

♦Shipyards and Ports: In shipyards, repair docks, and port maintenance areas, a single girder gantry crane is widely used for handling light to medium-duty loads such as small containers, mechanical components, spare parts, and tools. It supports efficient material movement during vessel repair, equipment servicing, and routine port operations.

♦Warehouses and Storage Yards: In warehouses and outdoor storage yards, these cranes are ideal for loading, unloading, and stacking goods. A single girder gantry crane performs especially well in open areas or temporary loading zones where overhead crane runways are not available, offering flexible and reliable lifting solutions.

♦Manufacturing Workshops: Manufacturing plants, machining workshops, and assembly lines commonly use single girder gantry cranes to move raw materials such as steel plates, pipes, and profiles, as well as semi-finished and finished products. Their compact structure makes them suitable for indoor spaces with limited headroom.

♦Construction Sites: On construction sites, single girder gantry cranes lift and transport cement bags, steel bars, molds, and prefabricated components. Mobile or rail-mounted designs allow efficient operation in open and changing environments.

♦Logistics and Distribution Centers: These cranes streamline loading, unloading, and internal material transfer, helping handle palletized goods, small containers, and bulk materials with improved efficiency.

♦Maintenance and Assembly Areas: Ideal for mechanical maintenance and equipment assembly zones, they safely handle engines, heavy tools, and machine parts, ensuring precise positioning and enhanced workplace safety.
